"The Swinton Bar is named in-honour of Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, the architect of the Umed Bhawan Palace in Kotah and one of the pioneers of the Indo-Saracenic architectural style. The Indo-Saracenic style is an amalgamation of traditional Indian and Rajput architecture, with the Neo-Gothic and Neo-Classical styles of 19th century Britain. The style gained prominence in the late 19th century and was used to construct public buildings & palaces across the country."
